What constellation can be seen on december?

If you're in the Northern Hemisphere, the best winter constellation is Orion. You can't miss the three stars in a line for Orion's belt, then look down and up, you'll see the rest. Orion also has a few great Messier objects (Nebulae) that look impressive through a small telescope. What constellation can be seen on december?Orion is particularly conspicuous.

I suggest you go to the Sky and Telescope web site and launch their "Interactive Sky Chart." You will have to register, but it isn't a hassle.

Once you are registered, you can enter your own location鈥搕he easiest way is Zip code鈥揳nd the sky chart will show you the sky in your location for any time and date that you choose. It's a good place to locate the present 'naked eye comet,' Comet Holmes, for example, and it will give you a good look at the December night sky.

Enjoy!!
