Please note this is asked in the astronomy section not astrology so I'm looking for more creative answers than "cause that's what my sign is"What's your favorite constellation and why?I like Orion because it's bright and easy to spot. I like the way it is visible even when the viewing conditions are poor. Orion is kind of like a friend who's always there in the winter months. What's your favorite constellation and why?
Taurus - especially the Pleiades..
My fiancee was a Taurus...she said the ring I gave her shined and glittered like the Pleiades.
We looked at the Pleiades on Christmas night...we were to marry on New Years Eve (2005) (an old Irish tradition). The weather turned bad the day before and we were going to wait so everyone could get together. The weather was fine the one morning and she went out for a walk. She slipped and fell on some ice, hitting her head in the process. She died the morning of January 5th of a brain hemorrhage.
This was one of the last things she wrote...
"Even though it was a bit hazy, stayed up all night and still had a beautiful sky full of stars. Got to see Venus and Mars again...the winter sky seems so bright with so many stars. I saw Orion and Taurus (I am suppose to be a Taurus and Paul is a Sagittarius...never followed that too much, anyone know what that is suppose to mean for us?) The Pleiades were beautiful; they glittered like diamonds...sort of like the diamond I got. Watch a pretty crescent moon rise up through the early morning fog....couldn't ask for a better Christmas gift."What's your favorite constellation and why?I know this isn't what you really mean but I like Stickman because it is made of galaxies instead of stars and I find that very interesting...
Stars though, probably Cassiopeia. What's your favorite constellation and why?
Orion . . . but my reason isn't any better than the "because that's my sign."
My niece is very excited by astronomy, and she pointed out Orion the other night. Then she pointed out about sixteen other constellations that I'd never heard of. Then she told me they were getting to "make their own" constellations in school.
I'm just so freaking proud of that kid. What's your favorite constellation and why?Well, I like Sagitarius, my sign, but I also like Orion. I know he's easy to see, but he's really the only one besides the Big Dipper really easy to make out in the night. What's your favorite constellation and why?
Orion.
Because it's HUGE.
And it's so easy to spot almost any time.
And because it has that really cool nebula in the middle that you can see easily with binoculars!
And because he's a hunter with a bow and arrow... that's cool!
I like Andromeda. Looking at the galaxy in that constellation is the closest thing we have at looking at our own Milky Way face-on.
