Whats the difference between lockheed constellation and lockheed super constellation?

I would send you to Wiki but there are better sources. The "Super" was the first of the "stretched" versions. "It was 18鈥?4" (5.6 m) longer than previous basic models. The "stretch" was accomplished by splicing an extra 9鈥?2" (2.8 m) section into the body just in front, and another just aft of the wing. The 1049 also had more powerful turbo compound R-3350 engines and carried 6,550 gallons (23,974 liters) of fuel with an optional wing center tank capable of carrying an additional 730 gallons (2,763 liters)."

Many of the early aircraft were converted to the 1049's! (L-1049's were the "Supers")

The super was followed with the "Starliner" (1649's)
