The Sun crosses Capricornus' region of the sky between Jan 13 and Feb 8.

One oddity is that there is a 13th constellation on the ecliptic -- Ophiuchus, the Snake Handler. For some reason, it was not afforded a place as an astrological sign, even though it was classified as a constellation all of the way back to ancient Greece, and it occupies more of the ecliptic than Sagittarius. One possible reason is that it represents a figure which was regarded in mythology to be out of favour with the Gods.Explain why the constellation Capricornus is a sign of the Zodiac while Ursa Major is not?
The Sun appears to spend part of the year in Capricornus, but never appears anywhere near Ursa Major.

I have a question for you: Explain why the constellation Scorpius is a sign of the Zodiac while Ophiuchus is not? The Sun spends quite a bit more time in Ophiuchus each year compared to the time it spends in Scorpius.
