and what is the greek alphabet for it??What is the second largest star in the constellation centaurus?????The two stars in Centaurus with the largest radii are Beta and Zeta. Beta Centauri or Hadar, is a super giant only 300 lightyears away.
Zeta Centauri or Alnair, is actually a double star, and one of the components is a blue sub giant with a mass of 9 times that of the sun. What is the second largest star in the constellation centaurus?????I don't know about largest, but the brightest star is Alpha Centauri and the second brightest is Beta Centauri, also known as Hadar or Agena. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beta_Centau鈥?/a>
In most constellations, the brightest star is designated alpha, the second brightest, beta, then gamma, delta and so on. This isn't always the case, however. In Orion, the brightest star is Rigel (Beta Orionis).
