Is there a constellation which is alternatively known as 'The Seven Sisters'?

There is a small constallation of stars called the Seven Dancing Sisters or just the Seven Sisters for short. It is normally positioned near the Moon and resembels a small verision of the Little Dipper. Normally only 6 of the 7 stars are visible but if you look at it long enough you can find the 7th.Is there a constellation which is alternatively known as 'The Seven Sisters'?No, the Seven Sisters is a constellation of what appears to the naked eye to be seven stars, although in reality there are eleven stars in the cluster and they are not actually a cluster. Anyway... the Greek word is Pleiades, and I suggest you go and Wiki it. (en.wikipedia.org)

The Pleiades (also known as M45 or the Seven Sisters) is an open cluster in the constellation of Taurus. It is among the nearest to the Earth of all open clusters, probably the best known and certainly the most striking to the naked eye.

Hope this helps you!

Yes, the Pleiades - aka The Seven Sisters is an open cluster in the constellation Taurus. It is the closest open cluster to earth.
The Seven Sisters refers to a star cluster called the Pleiades. Lots of websites you can check out. Here's one with a photo: http://www.naic.edu/~gibson/pleiades/
The Pleadies is a very good test for eyesight. How many stars can you see?
"The Seven Sisters" is a name sometimes used to identify the Pleaides cluster, since it has seven visible stars. It's a name derived from the seven sisters who are friends of Artemis in Greek mythology.

The Japanese name for this constellation is "Subaru", and if you look at Subaru's trademark and vehicle "badge" next time you see a Subaru on the street, you'll see that it is, in fact, the Pleaides cluster!

I guess before television and the internet were invented, folks spent a lot of time staring at the sky!

Great question!
Yeah, they go on stage every Tuesday at 10pm at the Cheetah Strip Club in Atlanta.
I don't think it's a constellation as such - just a group of stars, they're called the Pleaides. Punch that into your search engine to see some superb images - they're pretty spectacular.
Pleiades.....

Greek mythology says that these seven stars were the daughters of the titan Atlas (the one who carries the world on his shoulders )
The Pleiades.
The Pleiades in Taurus, most people can only see six now, the seventh sister having dimmed with age. Some people see as many as eleven, without optical assistance, but look at it with a small telescope or binoculars, and you will be confronted with a mass of blue stars.
It's not a constellation it is a star cluster. It is also know as the Pleiades and is number 45 in Messier's catalogue. It is in the constellation of Taurus.
Yes.It is Ursula Major I think.Asians call it Seven saints. It is infact only a cluster of stars(not constellation)visible to eyes or use a small telescope
