Anything like galaxies, nebulae, meteor showers,etc....Are there any special features in the Draco constellation?Hi Jane -
Draco does have the planetary nebula as mentioned above, but it is also home to several galaxies:
1. M102 - somewhat controversial, since its discoverer charted it elsewhere in the sky. Still, its commonly accepted version in Draco is one of the better lenticular galaxies available for amateurs.
2. NGC 5907 - a beautiful edge - on galaxy.
3. NGC5985 - a magnificent spiral
4. NGC 4236 - a large barred spiral
5. NGC 6503 - a small, bright spiral
6. There is also a quasar located within the confines of another galaxy, NGC 4319. The relative distance to these two objects is open to some question. Are there any special features in the Draco constellation?http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap09070鈥?/a>
