Great question!



Well this can be a bit confusing. I am going to try and keep this as simple as I can. There are different methods to determining or calculating a birth chart. The most ACCURATE and ancient form, the FIRST is called SIDEREAL the most modern is called TROPICAL. Sidereal astrology takes into account the use of the REAL SKY at the time of someones birth. This means we use the constellations and not the TROPIC OF CANCER POINT OF CALCULATION (CHECK YOUR GLOBAL MAP, YOU WILL SEE THE TROPIC OF CANCER POINT) Tropical astrology discounted the use of the constellations which is the foundation of the ZODIAC SIGNS. We also use the correct MONTH CALCULATIONS. The months were tampered with thousands of years ago. There were actually 13 months AND 13 constellations. Tropical astrology (the creator of it) did away with the 13th sign as the Roman's did away with the 13th month. Notice we have 13 moons (2 full moons in one month?) Notice LEAP YEAR? All unnatural. Also take into account that in tropical astrology the SEASONS are used. Sidereal astrology uses astronomy as well to calculate the sky at birth as a sign may NOT be in a particular sun sign or sign that tropical says its in. All of this can be a bit confusing unless you are an astrologer that thinks beyond what is put in front of them. In short... lets get back to the months.....The calculations for the months.... Cancer is according to tropical From June 21 to July22 THIS IS TO ACCOMMODATE THE SEASON OF SUMMER. Remember earlier I stated that tropical works with the seasons. So, it falls into Gemini and Cancer.



Confusing? can be. In sidereal to get rid of all the confusion.... the month of cancer is actually July 16th August 17th! That is in sidereal and believe me when I tell you, ITS ACCURATE!! More accurate than tropical. People are walking around thinking they are one sign when actually they are more than likely (not always but mostly) the sign BEFORE THEM. For example. People think that someone who was born May 4th and shows certain qualities is a Taurus. But in actuality this person is NOT a Taurus they are in fact an Aries!! April 16th to May 17th is an ARIES!



If you think about the constellations in the sky. They are not fit into neat little degrees of 30. Which is what Tropical astrology is founded on as well. In the REAL SKY some constellations are HUGE. So, to place signs within the current monthly calculations is inaccurate! If you wanna know what signs people REALLY are.. push their sign back by 2 weeks. Most are the preceding sign, but you have to mathematically check to be sure with signs that are born latter in the month.
