Did it change path 100 years ago, 1000 years ago 2000 years ago? Why was it not part of the zodiac before?Did Ecliptic path change some...Is that why it crosses the 13th constellation? The ancients saw the zodiac and the path of the sun in only general area terms. That is, there were no "hard edges" to the different constellation areas. It is only in the last century that the IAU set edges to constellations. This was done to avoid confusion and overlaps on research in the border areas. As a result, there may be very small spots in the ecliptic that touch another constellation that is not mentioned in the tables of astrologers thousands of years ago.
Another factor is that the precession of the equinoxes, caused by the wobble of the earth's axis in a 25,800 year cycle, has caused a tiny yearly shift in the path of the sun among the constellations. Over thousands of years, this may have caused a complete zodiac constellation's width of shift sideways.
